Biography

Aja's History

It has always been music for me, ever since I was little. I guess being named after an album may have been an influence.

I was born in San Francisco, and have since lived in Marin, Alameda and Sonoma Counties. I started piano and trumpet in the 4th grade and discovered harp in the 10th grade.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State East Bay where I majored in Voice and Harp.

I have appeared on TLC’s Wedding Story in 2002 as a solo harpist and have been fortunate enough to be a part of hundreds of private weddings and parties since 2001. I have performed with many Bay Area orchestras, including California Symphony, Berkeley Opera, Santa Rosa Symphony, Modesto Symphony, and Ukiah Symphony.

Some of the most rewarding music has been with my family, including my two inspiring children and my wonderful husband.

The presence and sound of a 6 foot tall concert pedal harp can add so much unique charm to an already special event. I have been fortunate to have been a part of Weddings, Memorials, Marriage Proposals, Surprise Parties, Fancy Teas, Birthdays & Anniversaries.

My repertoire includes classical, pop, Celtic music, and musical theater hits, and can be tailored to your event. I even take requests – that special song that means so much to you can be played on harp! See some of my repertoire listed below.

‘One From the Harp’ — $600

The fee for an event can range, but typically is around $600 for up to two hours. This includes cartage (moving the instrument), specialized music selection, clear communication (including written contract) and a sharply dressed harpist who loves adding something to the ambiance of each unique occasion!

‘The Duet’ — starting at $300

One is great and two is sweeter! Aja's husband Dan is a marvelous trumpeter and flutist. For an additional fee, the loving pair can share their music duo. Ideal for weddings with the versatility to play bridal fanfares and special flourishes.
